West Divide

Description

West Divide is a part of the Divide Mountain range which are the largest mountains on East Dwilight. Most of the West Divide's range is full of tall and ragged peaks with the main winding trail having been blasted through many eons ago. The heights of the peaks give glorious vistas of the continent and on a clear day views from the lowland city of Unterstrom to the port town of Shallowtown.

To the east lays the blistering heat of the desert. From the peaks of the mountains, the allure of the Desert of Silhouettes is understandable. Upon closer inspection, the reality of the expansive land of heat, sand, and monsters is starkly clear.

In the north east the edge of peaceful pasture lands and dark green forests beckon to those who value the soil over hard rock. Although most of West divide is mountains and stone, the fertile areas in the north east provide more than enough food for the whole region.

Although it is a long and difficult journey to cross the West Divide, the trail is well maintained and guarded and the secluded nature of the range has protected several pristine, beautiful attractions.  Tourism is as much a career as the grueling work the mines provide. Most of the peasants are either engaged in deep core mining or guiding tours through the beautiful and remote distances. There is a strong love of the land and few that are born here ever move .
